4 Weeks

I consider it one of the great blessings of my life to have heard David Foster preach when I did.

Less than 2 months ago, a shattering of the world I created for myself led me back to a relationship with God after a 6 year absence. 4 weeks ago last Sunday, God led me to The Gathering.

David sent me an email that he was praying for me when he got the card I filled out. Another blessing.

So I got to hear the last 4 sermons in the “6 People You Meet On The Way To Heaven” series. EXACTLY what I needed, when I needed it. Yay God.

I was looking so forward to sitting at David’s feet for as long as God wanted me to. I’m sad that the time was so short, but I am forever blessed that Dr. David Foster was ONE of the people I got to meet on My Way To Heaven.

I went back and found David’s email to me on 3/11/12. When I re-read it I just had to come back and share part of it with all of you.
He said, “It was great to meet you this morning at the Gathering. Hope you felt the energy, joy, and excitement that is the hallmark of this gathering of good, fun people! … as I said this morning, we can’t choose what happens to us; only what happens to what happened.”
I hope it gives you a glimpse of how he felt about his church family, and what he believed about the trials of life, including this one, I’m sure.

In the quote Dave made to MFletcher..”We can’t choose what happens TO us, just what happens to WHAT happened” ..is exactly what caused me to follow his teachings in 1991 when my family joined BCC in the Bellevue auditorium. What a journey with a Godly man who loved his family and his Lord! Paula, you and the girls are in our prayers!!! Many tears shed, and fond memories in our hearts! We love you guys!
