Remembering Pastor David Foster

You know David was my friend, my mentor, my tour guide on this earth, you brought me back to God 19 years ago in a school.  Over the past 5 1/2 years it has been in a couple of theaters.  It didn’t matter where you were, when David Foster spoke you forget where you were, and only listened to what God was saying through him, which was only meant for you.

I know 3 1/2 years ago when my world crashed around me, like a lot of people, David, with God’s words got me through them and lead me to a better and beautiful life today.  For months every word David spoke meant something to me.  I couldn’t hardly wait until the next week to see what he said.  So one day, after 3 months, I did what David spoke “GET UP, DRESS UP, SHOW UP AND DO THE NEXT RIGHT THING”.  so, I got up got dressed and went to a place in the woods where I could hear God speak.  I spent 3 hours out there in the cold walking around, sitting, kneeling and praying at the end of my rope, I had no direction at all for the first time in my life.  When it was all over I noticed I was at the bottom of this steep hill and had A LOT of small steps rising up to the top, back to where I needed to be.  At that moment I heard God speak to me, like he was standing next to me. Son, it is going to take a lot of small steps to get you back to where I want you to be.  I knew at that moment to take each small step forward, as I did up that hill, and know it was a blessing from God!  God knew what was best for me, the blessing ahead and it is perfect!  Yes, I have my up’s and down’s, but I keep looking up and thanking God for my blessings.  I have told David about this story and he loved it and told me “to hang on to it”.  I had a down moment just 2 weeks ago and talked with Paula and David on the phone.  He got me focused again and prayed for me.  The very next day I could see the blessings coming in from every direction.

David….  You, my friend will be missed by me!  My heart feels hurt and joy at the same time for you and the blessing of knowing you!  I will continue to speak to you with my soul.  You were a VERY UNIQUE VOICE FOR GOD and you blessed THOUSANDS!  Paula, Erin, Lindsey and Paige will be loved, huged and protected by all the people you blessed.  You had our backs for so long on this earth, now it is our turn to have your back!  You loved the Gathering and we all love you.  We are a messed up screwed up family that will always find a way to be together.

Have fun on your Harley up there and you can now ride without a helmet so that wind can blow all that beautiful hair.
